So, it just occurred to me that I never shared what Ryder and I did for Valentine’s Day! Even though it is a little late I figured I would share anyway!
Since we are in college my boyfriend Ryder and I decided that we would just stay in for dinner and do something just the two of us at his apartment! I was so excited because it seems like we are always surrounded by other people, whether his roommate, friends, or something else, and sometimes we forget that we need time just with each other. Bless his heart I left the whole night up to Ryder. The kind of food, what time, should we dress up or down, gifts or no, all of it I said hey be romantic and see what happens… oh boy did he blow me away!
Here is the menu he came up with:
- A Heart-Shaped Ribeye with Lemon-Butter sauce on top (THIS WAS AMAZING AND COOKED SO WELL I WAS SO PROUD!!)
- Jalapeno Poppers from a local meat market (the same place the steak was from)
- Baked Potatoes
- Balsamic Broccoli
and for dessert…. Haagen Dazs Carmel Gelato!
He picked me up at my sorority house in his truck and was super sweet, opening the door for me and everything, and then when we got to his apartment his gift was even sweeter. The gift he gave me was super personal and loving and something I will cherish forever… and for the sake of his red cheeks I’m not going to say exactly what it was on here… BUT know that I loved it lots.
All in all my very first valentine that wasn’t my dad went really well and exceeded all expectations that I had! Sorry again that this was so late! I don’t know how this big of an event slipped my mind!!
