Let me start this out by saying, my family is a huge fan of Spaghetti and when I went to Italy I became a super huge fan of pasta. Although I have seen the Italian way this is my American twist and also affordable for anyone that wants to cook for themselves on a budget!

First I started by following the instructions on the meatball package. These are just your basic premade meatballs from the meat section in Walmart. It said 30 minutes to cook them but I think I pulled them out at 26 minutes and they were perfectly fine!

Place the meatballs on a baking sheet. I was supposed to use foil but I didn’t have that so to keep them from sticking I just used some nonstick spray that we had on deck!

Next came the Crescent Rolls! These are actually the greatest thing in the entire world. I could eat a whole package if I wanted to! I laid out the rolls on a baking sheet and set them aside for a while, they don’t take as long as the meatballs or the pasta you cook so I saved them until the last 10 minutes to ensure that when I ate them they would be warm and yummy!

Next up: PASTA! Okay so weird fact about me, I dislike thick pasta a lot. I think it is a texture thing and I didn’t mind it in Italy as much, but definitely American Pasta I can’t stand it. Anyway I grabbed our largest pot, filled it halfway with water then put it on the stove to start heating up. I added a little bit of salt to the water. (I’m not sure why someone told me once it is good to do that when cooking pasta for some reason.) Then I broke the pasta in half and put it in the water. Be sure to stir your pasta every once in a while as it starts to cook down. You don’t want to burn it on the bottom!

Next was the pasta sauce! I grabbed Classico because that is what my Mom always bought but everyone in our family is known as “cookeries” by one of my aunts and we just can’t leave well alone… we always tweak the recipe. For a better flavor and more of an Italian taste with bolder flavors, I added 1 Tablespoon of Italian Seasoning to the pasta. No matter what sauce you get I would suggest this! It will give it more pizzazz!

After letting my pasta simmer in a pan, I also added about half a cup of water to help the pasta go farther! Then I started grating my Parmesan Cheese! I love a good cheese, well actually cheese in general, but this is the BEST when it comes to Italian food toppings! Forget the Parmesan powder bring me the real stuff!

After about 10-15 minutes I put my Crescent Rolls in to cook. I like mine a little more gooey than cooked, so I took mine out after about 10 minutes or so. Just make sure they are somewhat brown on top and you’re good! Don’t those meatballs look yummy?! I could smell it all over the kitchen it was amazing!

Once your Spaghetti noodles are done be sure to strain them using a colander! I left mine in the colander in the sink to cool off a tad before plating my food!

Once your Crescent Rolls are done, put them to the side to cool off for a minute.

When your meatballs are done mix them up with your pasta sauce in the pot!

Put your pasta and your meatballs and sauce on the plate, add a crescent roll and then there you have it! Dinner!

I hope you all enjoyed this recipe and post! I am hoping to do a few more like this coming up as I start cooking for myself more!

xoxo,
