Every year, as the mornings become crisp, I get super excited. Not only does fall bring great weather, but it also brings wonderful memories. Our family has had different traditions throughout the years, and I have added some as I have gotten older, but Fall is a time that our family all comes back together again and I absolutely love it!! Today I wanted to share a couple of our Fall traditions! Let me know what we need to add to the list!!
The Pumpkin Patch
I have always loved Pumpkin Patches. It makes it even better if it is a Pumpkin Patch paired with a corn maze!! Of course here in Arkansas, you are usually able to still wear shorts while you’re there, but this is one of the activities that I look forward to most during the Fall! When we first started dating Ryder got a small taste of my love for this season when I dragged him to the Ozark Corn Maze! We had an absolute last. If you are in the Northwest Arkansas area definitely check it out! They also had a petting zoo, and a pumpkin catapult which was super cool!
Razorback Football Games
Ever since I was a little girl our family has had season tickets to the Razorback football games. As a kid, I absolutely loved standing on my chair to see the field and cheering on those Hogs. Although we have had some winning and some losing seasons, I will love the Hogs no matter what. For better or worse right?! To this day I still enjoy the games during the Fall and football is one of my favorite sports. There is just something about football season in the SEC that is so so special.
Hunting
If you have hung around our family long enough, you will pick up on the fact that we are big into hunting. Duck, Deer, Turkey, Squirrels…. doesn’t matter. We absolutely love the sport (no matter how controversial) and we enjoy doing it together. As a little girl with two brothers, I learned quickly that hanging out with the guys meant sometimes getting a little dirty. I started hunting with my dad when I was probably around 6 years old in our front yard oddly enough! We killed a couple of squirrels that day. Years later I have been on multiple hunts, built multiple tree stands, and have even out shot my dad a couple of times in skeet. But ultimately I got closer to the men in my family and that is the coolest part. I like this tradition a whole lot, and I can’t wait to buy my kids their first camo outfit one day to continue the tradition.
Of course, we have had others in the past like trick or treating in the neighborhood I grew up in, visiting our family farm to see family, and even baking banana bread in the kitchen with mom, but these are just a couple of our traditions that I wanted to share. Do you have any traditions we should try? Leave them in the comments below!
