Merry Christmas! It is so great to be able to officially say that.
Since the Christmas season is officially upon us I wanted to share our Christmas decorations at our house this year. We have a pretty traditionally decorated house, so to stick with the theme we used red, gold, and silver tones. Last year the tree I decorated was just gold and silver so the adding red into the mix was easy!
Let’s first start with the tree.
I started with a prelit Christmas Tree that my mom was looking to get rid of! (Don’t you just love parents?) Then we added in some additional lights for the areas that were lacking working lights. Then I started adding in ribbon! I used a different method this year with my ribbon. I cut them in about 3-4 foot sections and then half circled them (Not sure what else to call it) and placed them in various areas of the tree. Next came the decorative sticks. I have various tree filler decorations that I put in different areas to create dimension in the tree. You can get these at Wal-Mart, but I found great quality ones at Lowe’s too.
Last but not least came the ornaments! We put them all around the tree until it looked full and fun. After this, we added a star to the top and we were finished!
Next, we decorated the mantle and our other Christmas tree that is more outdoorsy themed! For the mantle, I took a normal piece of garland and added ornaments that were similar to those that were on the tree. I wanted to tie the tree into the decorations on the mantle and I think we accomplished that!
We also have a large window sill in our house so we decided to decorate it with a red berry garland and lamps that were already in our living room. We also added some picture frames and a cute Christmas sign for the finishing touch!
I hope you guys have enjoyed this post and my decorating tips! If you ever have any questions feel free to leave a comment! I always love to help!
