Today, I wanted to write a post that I have been asked about many many times…. what apps I use for blogging. I started blogging my first year of college, and I have learned SO much since. When I started blogging it was purely to share my life with my family while I was away from them. Now it has grown much larger than that. To help me stay organized and create the content that I do, I use multiple applications and software.

Social Media Platforms
Once you start your blog, you will want to promote it so that other people are able to find it! I promote my blog posts using my social media platforms. Having a Blog Facebook Page, is a great way to connect with followers that might not have another social media platform. I also have an Instagram account that I have tied my Facebook Page so that it is easier to share content across the platforms. In addition to both of those platforms i also use Twitter and Pinterest. The great thing about social media, is that not everybody uses all of them. People will normally use one or two but not all, so promoting blog posts on all of them helps to reach a larger amount of followers.

Tailwind
If you use Pinterest to promote your blog you will definitely want to use Tailwind. With Tailwind you can schedule posts for the optimal times on your blog as well as join tribes. Tailwind Tribes are great because it is basically a group of same niche individuals that are looking to promote and pin each other’s content. Using Tribes helps boost your Pinterest engagement significantly! If you aren’t utilizing Pinterest you are missing out!

Canva
Canva is a great tool to use if you have little to no Photoshop experience and are looking to make graphics quickly. Canva lets you upload your pictures, add texts, shapes, or even borders. It also has templates that you can choose from and change to make your own!
-
Lightroom
Lightroom is the software that I use to edit all of my pictures. There are a ton of preset packages that people have made that you can purchase, or you can create your own. Using a preset within Lightroom to edit photos is just a great way to have a more cohesive profile on Instagram or in your blog posts. If your editing is all the same it makes your blog look more put together and clean. Lightroom is available as a mobile app or as a desktop software. I have both, but I will say that I end up using the mobile version more than the desktop because it is super easy to use on the go!

Planoly
Planoly is strictly a mobile application, but it has been a lifesaver! I use Planoly to schedule, arrange, and brainstorm my Instagram feed. With Planoly you are able to create captions, hashtag lists for different types of posts, and even swap an image if you decide you would like to use a different one! Also, Planoly helps tracks my analytics of my account so that I can see how my profile is performing month by month or even by comparing previous years!
These apps are some of my best hacks that I can give to a new or even experienced blogger. For myself, blogging is a side hobby so I need to always make sure that is is still fun! By using these apps to stay organized and create new content quickly, it stays fun and I still have time for other hobbies!
Have any app suggestions that I should try out? Leave it in the comments below!
