Merry Christmas Everyone!!
This Christmas has been bittersweet this year. This is the last Christmas that we will be living in Fort Smith, Arkansas. As many of you know my dad has a dream of one day being able to hunt off of his back porch. Well after lots of searching my parents have found their dream piece of land. We are so excited for them and I can’t wait to see what the future holds at that property!
Christmas is a time that I normally sit back and reflect on the past year and all of the people that entered and left my life. Some for the better and some not. This year as y’all know my grandpa passed away. This has been a difficult year for my family, but he will never be forgotten. I am sure that he is enjoying his first Christmas spent with Jesus.
No matter who you are missing this Christmas at your table, I hope you are comforted by the fact that they are hopefully in a better place.
Reason For The Season
As always I pray that everyone remembers the reason for the season. Below is a passage from Matthew Chapter 1. This is one of my favorite passages in the Bible and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do this Christmas because He really is the reason for the season!!
Matthew 1:18-25
This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.
19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus because he will save his people from their sins.”
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.
Hope you had an amazing holiday and a happy new year!
