Surprise! I got hair extensions! In 2018, I basically went through an early life hair crisis! I was fed up with my hair and growing impatient so I cut it shorter than my shoulders, and then after getting highlights early in the year, I dyed it at least 2 shades darker than my natural color.

Through it all my hair stylist Megan Farmer at Freshair Salon in Fayetteville was my rock!! (Seriously) Megan helped me SO much throughout the year and has educated me on how to keep better care of my hair and how to be patient with it. She also helped me out when it came to extensions!

After cutting all of my hair off, I realized that hair doesn’t grow back as quickly as I thought it did. In fact, mine grows at a snail pace! With that being said I wanted longer, thicker hair.

Why I Chose Hot Heads

With my hair being so fine and soft, we decided that the Hot Head Extensions, would be better than the Bellami beaded extensions! The Hot Head Extensions are installed to your head with wafts that have an adhesive tab on them. Two are pressed together on the bottom and top of your hair. The Beaded extensions are woven into your hair (sorta, not exactly). Considering, they put more strain on your hair, they are not ideal for people with finer hair like mine!

We actually put in two different colors of extensions, to make it look as natural as possible. My hair is overall darker than my natural color, but I still have highlights that add dimension. Overall, I have been so impressed with them! It took a couple of days to get used to, but they are so awesome!

Megan did such a great job blending them into my natural hair, even with the drastic change in length. I will get them maintained every 8-10 weeks moivng them up slightly so that they stay close to my roots, and overall they should stay good for about 10 months if you take care of them! I use the Hot Heads Shampoo at every wash and I use the Oribe Split End Seal to help keep the quality of the extensions in tact!
