I will be honest, while moving from my house to my new apartment, I realized that I had an immense about of things that I needed to throw out. After a while I have a tendency to hold on to things for sentimental value, or just because a company sent it to me, I used it for a while, but I didn’t get through all of the product. The reasons go on and on…

But through the moving process I started asking myself is this worth packing up for a 9 hour drive?? Is this worth buying another box just to fit it in the car? Most of the time the answer to those questions was “No”. With that I also went through my closet and took out all of the items that didn’t give me joy… just kidding with you! But I did take out the items that I hadn’t worn in years, or I had just stopped reaching for.

After I went completely through the closet, I set all of the items aside and if I didn’t find myself reaching for them after a month I decided I would donate them to Beautiful Lives Boutique and that was that! I significantly decreased my closet and the items I had to pack!

Now, let’s talk about my new apartment bathroom organization…. to be honest the open floor plan concept they get an A++ but for cabinet space they get a C. BUT I knew this going into it, so I decided to get creative! The main area of bathroom storage that I have is under the sink, so to get it all compartmentalized, I purchased these under counter wire drawers! I also noticed that I had a pipe that was going to conflict with one side so I purchased this wire drawer and it worked perfect!

Then when it came to my over the toilet cabinet… this needed a lot of organizing help!

So I purchased this “turntable” or lazy susan to help get everything in order! I was able to split my products into two categories, hair and skin, then I color coded the products on the turn table! Color coding might have been a little over board but I like it! Then I had a makeup brush holder that spins and I though it would fit perfect in the cabinet! Overall, I am thrilled with how much easier everything is to find in my cabinet now!

If I can find enough space in this apartment bathroom to store all of my hair tools, products and medicine cabinet items then anyone can! Next step will be trying to narrow down the products I like using and the ones that I don’t so that I can be even more of a minimalist!
