Today I am thankful for random acts of kindness. Sometimes people on this Earth feel like doing something nice for someone else. Some of the time they don’t know the person that they feel compelled to be nice too. This is what makes it random kindness.
When I was younger I remember my mom buying a homeless man a meal at McDonald’s. She taught me then and there that friendliness wasn’t just due to those that we know, but rather everyone around us. As I have grown, I realize that you really don’t know what people are going through.
You have no idea if a person is homeless by choice, or by some other event in their life that put them there. You never know what baggage someone has. Random acts of kindness are contagious. Normally it creates a ripple effect. If you have someone be kind to you, normally you feel compelled to be nice to someone else, and so forth.
With the ripple effect comes more and more friendliness. This holiday season I challenge you not only to be thankful but spread kindness around like confetti!
