Today I am thankful for laughter. Laughter is one of the things that I cherish the most in life. I grew up in a family that was always laughing. I couldn’t imagine my life any different way.

Laughter is infectious and if you’re like my mom you can hear it two rooms away. My whole family is extremely loud and funny. I am constantly laughing around them and I love it. No matter where we are or what we are doing somehow they seem to make it fun.

Laughing is the best medicine, and because so many people have done so many studies about it I thought I would share some facts about it!

  1. You can’t actually force yourself to laugh.
  2. We laugh up to 30 times more when we are with others.
  3. It alters the cortisol levels in your body and lowers our stress levels and helps fights off things that are harmful to us.
  4. Humans are not the only beings that laugh. Some animals actually experience something similar to laughter but it is hard to detect!
  5. Women tend to laugh slightly more than men!

I hope you guys have something to be thankful for too!
