It is here at last! My gift guides for this Christmas season! Although gifts should not be the reason for the season, giving is. I have prepared various gift guides for various types of people and I hope that they help at least one of you with your Christmas shopping this year!

Let’s start with the Outdoorsy Man (or Young Man) Gift Guide. I myself have one of these as my boyfriend, so I had some help with this one. All of these suggestions are Ryder approved and trust me when I tell you, he researches everything endlessly before purchasing something!

Gift Guide: Outdoorsy Guy

  1. Lacrosse Classic Boots – I still remember when my father bought me my first pair of Lacrosse boots. They are great for keeping your feet warm and dry on the wet and cold hikes. No outdoorsmen will ever be upset receiving a new pair! Odds are they have had the same pair for forever or they have never thought to buy them for themselves.

  2. Lumix FZ300 – Collin, Ryder’s roommate has this camera and uses it primarily for filming and shooting their hunts. He said it is a great camera if you don’t want to have multiple lenses to lug around. It also has a quiet shutter so that you don’t scare off the wildlife.

  3. Columbia Jacket – Any Columbia products are normally a great gift for an outdoorsman. The quality of the material is sure to be long-lasting and serve its purpose well if they take care of it.

  4. Vortex Optics Binoculars – If you have an outdoorsman that is needing a pair of good binoculars, you can’t go wrong with Vortex. Surprisingly, most binoculars are fairly expensive (which I did not know until I made this guide) but Ryder says these are definitely a reasonable price for the quality, and well worth it!

  5. Yeti Hopper – Yeti has been around long enough, that I will let their reputation for quality speak for them. This is one of my favorite coolers that they have. The Hopper model is functional for a long destination hike or even just a BBQ in the backyard.

  6. LifeStraw – UNDER $30 GIFT ALERT! This device is SO cool! This is a water filtration system that fits into a water bottle that you already own. They have multiple styles to fit different needs, but the important part is you can stay hydrated ANYWHERE! Never worry about dehydrating again with this simple device!

  7. Thermacell – Ryder claims that this simple invention saves him from mosquitos in the summertime. He usually goes and scouts the areas that he will hunt during the hot months. When he doesn’t use his Thermacell he gets eaten alive! Get your outdoorsman a Thermacell and some refills to prepare him for Spring and Summer, he will be forever grateful.

  8. Tenzing Pack – Ryder says that a Tenzing pack is on the list of items he is buying when he has a grown-up job. Sounds great to me! It is great for hunters and avid outdoorsmen alike. It is made with good material and has multiple places to store snacks, tools, etc. for your outdoorsy needs.

  9. The Meateater Game and Fish Cookbook – Ryder has been begging me for this cookbook since they announced the presale. Meateater is actually a Netflix Show, and they recently came out with a cookbook! If you have an outdoorsman that also enjoys cooking, this is the perfect gift.

  10. Buck Knife – Every outdoorsman needs a good knife. This knife is reasonably priced and the quality is not bad! I always laugh at Christmas because if something needs to be opened, you have like 6 knives to choose from immediately. Basically, they are saying, “Pick my knife it cuts tape like butter.” I love my family and all of the outdoorsmen in it.
